Australia is a wonderful destination for skilled migrants. The SkillSelect program is for anyone who wishes to apply for skilled migration visa. With Skilled Migration Visa people can live and work in Australia. Australian Immigration consider qualification, work experience and language ability of the applicant who wish to apply under Skilled Migration.
All Australian Skilled Worker Visas in 2012-2013 replaced by the General Skilled Migration Program. Moreover, it is a point based system and candidate has to acquire at least 65 points in order to apply under General Skilled Migration.
Steps of the SkillSelect Program:
- Firstly, check that applicant must have 65 points, and check your occupation under the list of skilled occupations.
- Must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI), before apply for the visa
- Prior submitting EOI, there are some crucial requirements along with an assessment
- If your EOL has been selected then you receive an invitation to apply.
- Receive an invitation to apply
- Candidates who achieve the best score are invited to apply
- Apply for a visa
- Candidates are given 60 days, from date of invitation, to submit the visa application
There are some rudimentary requirements that candidates should meet in order to apply for SkillSelect Program. While it has not a comprehensive list of eligibility requirements but still it can provide a good idea of the standards candidate must have:
- Age – Candidate’s age must be under 45 years
- English language – Candidate has enough command over the English language to work in Australia.
- Nominated occupation – You can find your skill under the Skilled Occupation Lists. You nominate a skilled occupation while applying which suits you according to your qualification.
- Skills assessment – Australia structured an assessing system in which candidate must assessed their skills.
- Health assessment – Applicant must go through a medical assessment and prove that you are in reasonably good health. This medical assessment is done by an Australian Embassy registered doctor.
- Character assessment –Candidate don’t have any criminal record.
- Points– Candidate must receive the essential points for the visa.
- Previous visa– You must not have previous refused Australia visa
